Black Friday Fleet Run
11/28/8 at 15:47:33

Hi Guys,
Today we had a great run while the ladies shopped. Hopefully others will post as well.

Three of the ships leaving harbour to form up.

Rochester heads to sea.

While we were in formation with several ships a gust of wind almost sent Joey's Knox to Davy Jones' Locker. While saving the ship part of the superstructure was lost. Here we see fleet salvage by LST and Tico.  Hopefully someone got a picture of 1/8 scale tug helping as well.

Hi Charles

Looks like it was the USS Yorktown (CG-48) and not the Tico (CG-47) that was saving the day for that Knox class Frigate.

Hi Charles

After being stationed on the USS Vincennes (CG-49) for five years, I should know the differences between the different Baselines.  Another surprising thing is I still remember where everything is on the inside also and it has been about 18 years since I left her.

Good looking formation run guys.
Well Joe, I knew you'd eventually blow the top off that hot rod one day. Should have told you to remove the GM 6-71 blower from your motor but I forgot. Guess the blower belt finally came apart and blew off the top of the your ship.
It's OK to blame the wind Grin.
Looking forward to seeing the new rebuilt version.
Sorry couldn't make it. I got nothing ready for the water. Everything is up on blocks.
It's turning winter in the wife's eyes and she see's the honey-do list needing some adjustment done to it.
Charles, your Long Beach is looking good. Looking forward to the finished product.
See ya all soon.

Thanks Joe,  maybe we will get to run our AMs together someday.
Walt:  I wish I could get on board a Ticonderoga class, you are a lucky man. Smiley
Ed:  We missed you.  Thanks for the compliments on the Long Beach.  She ran so good that I'm gonna have to finish her for the next get together.  Hope to see you in the spring.

Hey Ed that was Joey's Knox class that lost the top due to the wind. My Brooke class ship is still King of the pond and looking for a rematch with your Perry. I know you were wishing that it was my ship but no such luck. That hemi is still purring.  Joe

Hey Joe,
Well that would figure a Knox throwing a blower belt. They got Ferrari engines in them and Ferrari was never told it never had a blower on there engines.
Any suggests on how to fit a Ford 427 Cobra jet into a 1/96 Perry Hull?
I keep crushing the fiberglass as it starts to put alittle pressure on the hull.
Maybe I should try one of those R/C jet engine for those 1/4 scale R/C jets. Those jets are flying about 250 mph these days, fuel it with Red Bull and add some wings Cheesy.
See ya soon on the water.
